National Blah Buster Month – February 2024

National Blah Buster Month occurs in February. There isn’t a great deal of information surrounding this holiday, and we are unsure who created it or why they thought that February is Blah. But we aren’t complaining, any holiday no matter how obscure, is fun to celebrate and gives people something to look forward to. Blah refers to something boring, dull, or unexciting. So this month is all about bringing more excitement into our lives. We may be suffering from an emotional hangover and slight depression from the festive season and New Year thus National Blah Buster Month helps us get back into the swing of things by beating the Blahs.

History of National Blah Buster Month

We are unsure who started National Blah Buster Month, but we assume that whoever it was was tired of being bored and wanted to create a month of excitement for themselves and others.

We also assume that February was selected as the month to bust the blahs because of its position on the calendar. It falls just after Christmas and New Year. People may have spent December and January celebrating and creating festive cheer and come February the excitement may wear off. This physical, financial, and emotional stress can leave us drained and this month can bring much-needed relief.

February is also a cold month and the weather can also be quite dreary which means there is even more reason to spread some cheer and be creative with your activities.

There is no end to the amount and type of activities you can do to beat the blahs. It all boils down to what you love and what you want to do. Sport, crafting, cooking, reading — the list is endless and you are only limited by your imagination. And you can get others involved, kids would love to have a month full of daily activities they can do just for themselves. Work colleagues can partake and create an atmosphere of joy and celebration in their offices. Gyms could run special workouts for the members to help motivate them during this time and get them exercising as a means to beat their boredom.

National Blah Buster Month is a month where anything goes and excitement and joy are the aims of the game.
